Brunix is recommended for blackening cold\nand hot rolled carbon steels, carbonitrided steels, low alloy steels\nand iron. The product has also proven effective on copper, brass\nand sterling silver. It will not blacken stainless steels, aluminum\nand silver.\nThe surface to be blackened must be carefully prepared. It must\nbe free from oil, grease, rust and any other substance or\ncompound that can interpose between the metal and the solution\nof Brunix, or a finish in spots and not adhering to the treated\npiece.\nAlso remember that the presence of oily substances or oxides of\nother metals in burnishing bath will cause the malfunction.\nThe product, once diluted, must be placed in a plastic container\nor of steel coated inside with plastic materials, because the direct\ncontact with metals would make the inactive solution after a very\nshort time.\nThe browning time to be found experimentally with targeted\ntesting. On average, a bathroom properly prepared employs,\ndepending on the type of material, from 30 to 90 seconds with a\nproduct concentration in water equal to 10%. Depending on\nneeds, the concentration can be increased up to 25%, with\nproportional shortening treatment times.\nIndicatively a liter of concentrate is able to burnish a surface area\nof about
