APPLICATION:

Brunix is a water dilutable instant metal blackener working at room temperature. Brunix is recommended for blackening cold and hot rolled carbon steels, carbonitrided steels, low alloy steels and iron. The product has also proven effective on copper, brass and sterling silver. It will not blacken stainless steels, aluminum and silver. The surface to be blackened must be carefully prepared. It must be free from oil, grease, rust and any other substance or compound that can interpose between the metal and the solution of Brunix, or a finish in spots and not adhering to the treated piece. Also remember that the presence of oily substances or oxides of other metals in burnishing bath will cause the malfunction. The product, once diluted, must be placed in a plastic container or of steel coated inside with plastic materials, because the direct contact with metals would make the inactive solution after a very short time. The browning time to be found experimentally with targeted testing. On average, a bathroom properly prepared employs, depending on the type of material, from 30 to 90 seconds with a product concentration in water equal to 10%. Depending on needs, the concentration can be increased up to 25%, with proportional shortening treatment times. Indicatively a liter of concentrate is able to burnish a surface area of about 15m2.² circa.
